here we are.

two books happened into my life simultaneously. i finally unwrapped them and sat with them this oddly quiet, rainy morning. you wouldn't think them related but there are strange parallels.

mark borthwick's in particular i want to flip through for the rest of my life.

procrastination shopping.

i wanted eight but only bought two.

Woe is me. The weekend could not come soon enough. And I still have approximately 6 more hours of work left in my Thursday.

noo

I bought a NEW bicycle this weekend. And I do mean NEW! My love for vintage will sail onward into eternity but my Schwinn was as bogus as it gets. Once I rode the glorious NEWness there was no turning back. NEW! All NEW! And then I ordered the above glorious NEW "saddle" this morning. I will count down the cold, wintry days until it gets here. It is, yet again, an unlikely purchase for someone like me, but the sales are plentiful in this economy and I decided I had to have it. A NEW saddle!

NEWNEWNEWNEWNEW!

(MEANWHILE...I am still mourning the Five Boro Ride's unlikelihood but note that I have not given up hope just yet!)

wanted

Until further notice, I will not be doing the above. A charity entry is a possibility but a $500 commitment is required. And I have never raised money in my life (even personally). And I would be alone. I am one of many up in arms but still crossing my fingers for a Craigslist miracle.

traverse!

My latest thoughts have turn towards our next travel destination and I think it's going to be a doozy. I've got a little something cooking for the month of June but I want to avoid jinxing it just yet. My better half is a little concerned about time and commitment whilst he's on the verge of greatness but I think we could make it work. And I actually think the timing can be perfect! And then I also have this fantasy of going for a weekend jaunt at some point. But that might be greedy.

I have abandoned all thoughts of further ski adventuring in lieu of the rumored permanent brain damage and/or death N. Richardson.

something

As of late, I have decided to let people remain under the impression that I am pregnant and go ahead and take the seat on the subway when offered. I figure it saves us both some embarrassment. It happens more often than you think. Presumably a combination of stance and attire is to blame.
